The “ST. LOU IS:” poster series celebrates the heartbeat of St. Louis—the people who call it home. Unlike campaigns designed to attract tourists or big businesses, this project focuses on the city's long-time residents, often overlooked in traditional narratives. These "everyday" citizens, though not widely recognized or celebrated, embody the unique spirit and authenticity of St. Louis.
This initial poster serves as a vibrant introduction to a larger series, each featuring a different individual whose personal story shapes their definition of what "ST. LOU IS." The artwork blends bold, layered visuals with raw, authentic storytelling, weaving together the colorful and complex elements of their lives in the city. The goal is to embrace the messiness and beauty of real-life experiences in a genuine urban community.
This project debuted in the St. Louis AIGA Design Show 26 and represents the first step in a broader campaign to highlight the diverse voices and stories of St. Louis residents. Future posters will continue to shine a light on the rich tapestry of the city by exploring what makes it feel like home through the eyes of its people.
